DESCRIPTION
We had to create our very own board game, complete with the box design, board, game pieces, cards or currency, directions, and rules. First, we looked at a sample board game, which was Monopoly, we saw how the individual pieces were layered and how the color palette was assembled. Plus, we saw how clear and specific the directions should be. From what we learned by looking at the Monopoly game, we were tasked to create either a rectangular board or a square board in Photoshop, along with the game pieces, color palette, currency if you chose to have them, and the rules panel.
PERSONAL GOAL
My personal goal was to have a unique game and to come up with a game that could actually sell in the real world. I also wanted to make sure I got all of my elements not only completed, but done exceptionally well in the time given, because I didn’t want to have an ugly game or a terrible concept.
DIFFICULTIES
My number one difficulty had to be time management. It was a very time consuming project, and you had to make sure you got a good amount done each class. If you took the slightest break it could set you back about half an hour or more in the amount of work you had to get done. It took a lot of effort for me to just sit down and power through the class and work almost nonstop on my board game.
