DESCRIPTION
For this project, we had the task of promoting the 2017 MHS Yearbook by designing flyers using brushes to create texture and to draw attention to the product. In Photoshop, I used a group photo of 4-5 girls, to which I adjusted the hue and coloring, and for the top half of the poster and at the bottom I created a gold and green watercolor backdrop to create some fluidity and some contrast to the black lettering that I used.
PERSONAL GOAL
My personal goal was to create a poster that would really draw people in so that they would be so intrigued by it that they would purchase our yearbook. I also wanted to have fun with it and try out different types of brushes that struck my interest, such as watercolor brushes. I had always wanted to implicate watercolor in my projects somehow, and this was one of my first opportunities to do so, so I went full force with it to show off how I can use different tools to my advantage.
DIFFICULTIES
My main difficulty that I had endured while completing this project was finding a way to be creative. For about half of the class, I had a massive creative block. There were no ideas running through my head, so I just sat there staring at the screen. But when I was online looking for brushes, I saw a pack of watercolor ones and I immediately got inspired. Overcoming that really helped me to branch out and try something new.
